Equine ZONE VISIT DAYS

 As of January 2026 our standard daytime equine visit fee is £60 incl VAT.

Donaldson’s Farm and Equine provides discounted visits to clients in 3 forms:

1. Yard Visits

Yard visits are bi-weekly (every 14 days) and are carried out on larger livery yards. There is no visit fee for any client on a yard visit.

1. Zone visits

Zone visits are on set days. We have 4 zones and the zone map can be seen above abd on our website and Facebook page. When the zone day is in your area, if you book an appointment you will pay a reduced visit fee of £25 *this fee can be split between up to 3 horses (£8.33 each); 4 horses or more qualify for a free visit.

Orange Zone Visit – Monday

Red Zone Visit – Tuesday

Purple Zone Visit – Wednesday

Green Zone Visit – Thursday

1. Shared visit 

When four horses or more are seen for examination or treatment on one visit, there will be no visit fee charged.

There also remains the option to bring your horse for examination/treatment/procedures to our on-site stable yard at Woodnook. There will be no visit fee, however livery fees may be applied depending on length of stay.

Terms of Zone and Yard visits

• Zone visits are on set days with a prearranged vet
• If you book a Zone visit you will pay a reduced visit fee of £25inc VAT (from £60inc VAT)
• You can request a morning or afternoon visit, we will accommodate this where we can HOWEVER timing cannot be guaranteed.
• You CANNOT request a specific vet. However you can ask which vet is rota’d to do the Zone visit on that day as this is arranged in advance. Occasionally the vet may change on the day (for reasons such as sickness or other absence)
• We will send you a message from our admin phone (WhatsApp message) the day before the visit to give you the estimated time window for your visit. This window cannot be guaranteed, however we will do our best to stick to it. If we are running more than 30 minutes behind we will try to give adequate notice.

The Yard and zone visits are intended mainly for routine veterinary work. However we will accommodate extended/more advanced procedures where possible as long as we have advanced notice (minimum 48hours).

Services provided on Zone and Yard visits

• Routine appointments such as:
• Vaccinations
• Health checks
• Blood samples
• Routine Dental
• Initial lameness check (not nerve blocks)
• Laminitic check

• Option to add non-routine procedures for additional fee of £30 PER CLIENT to cover set up costs/use of a nurse, such as:
• X-rays
• Moderately extended dental work (e.g. diastema burring, wolf tooth extractions)
• Lameness work up e.g. nerve blocks, Ultrasound scan, x-rays
• Gastroscopy
• Respiratory scope e.g. guttural pouch wash

We cannot guarantee that we can provide these services on yard or zone visits as appropriate equipment or vets may not be available. More chance of doing so if booked further in advance (48hours minimum).

£30 FEE PER CLIENT FOR THE NON-ROUTINE PROCEDURES, THIS IS ON TOP OF THE £25 ZONE VISIT FEE OR FREE YARD VISIT.

• In some circumstances we may be able to offer the following on Yard/Zone visits:
• Vetting x-rays (these take a long time)
• Extended dental procedures (e.g. any extraction other than wolf teeth)
• Reproductive scanning
• Surgical procedures

Again, this would need to be pre-agreed and booked in advance.
